Once upon a time, there was a girl who wore her heart on her sleeve.
The girl had friends whom she loved, and so she gave away little pieces of her heart to each of them. But some of her friends set their pieces on fire, and the girl cried for the pieces of her heart. Some friends put the flame out, and so the girl was happy, and gave the friends more of her heart even though they had set their pieces on fire. And though her heart was now smaller, she thought it was worth it.
The girl had a family whom she loved, and so she let her family hold her heart. But her family saw that the edges of her heart were frayed. They picked at the bits of heart thread, trying to make it smooth, but the edges of the heart only got more frayed. The girl cried because her heart could not be perfect for her family, and so she took her heart back. But her family told her they liked her heart, frays and all. And though her heart was now smaller and frayed, she thought it was worth it.
One day the girl was walking along when some boys snatched her heart off her sleeve. The boys played hot potato with her heart, tossing it from one to the next until the girl was tired of running, even though she was having fun. The boys weren't particularly good catchers, and so they kept dropping her heart in the dirt. Then they lost interest in the game and let the heart fall to the ground, and ran off. The girl cried because the boys had run away, and she picked up her heart. And though her heart was now smaller and frayed and dirty, she thought it was worth it.
The girl went off by herself and looked at her heart. She remembered when it used to be big and perfect and clean, and she cried for her heart. And then she thought about it and remembered how happy her friends had been to get the pieces of her heart, and how happy her family had been trying to make her heart the best it could be, and how happy she had been when chasing her heart that the boys had stolen. And so the girl put her heart back on her sleeve, small, frayed, and dirty, and went back into the world with a smile.
Once upon a time, there was a girl who wore her heart on her sleeve.
I get my ideas at the strangest time of night.

Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through everything I do, and then I remember that I do it to make people happy. My friends, my family, myself, and those who I wish would have loved me when I loved them. And to me, it's worth it.

Here's to my friends, my family, and the one who I wish would love me. You guys are my world.
